These are shops we have counted. The reservation is left in. A smooth afternoon is not the only kind of visit.
I asked them to look at the cotton bolts, not the whole shop. The map showed four widths I had been refolding to the front because the colour was pretty, while the width my regulars actually take was in a carton under the cutting table. I had walked past that carton for months.
The rainy-season count of bottled water and plastic basins was useful, and I have already cut one reorder. I do wish they had warned me that a supplier truck in the lane would stop the aisle. We lost time shifting crates before Ploy could see the back stack. She wrote that delay on the page, which was fair, but I would book the quiet afternoon next time.
My sister's shop and mine were ordering the same detergent as if we were one room. The paired pages showed her back room was holding the large bottles I kept telling the supplier I was short of. We have not merged the shops. We just stopped both calling on the same Monday.

The hinge tins on Nawamin
Anucha keeps a hardware counter a short ride from Nawamin Road. He wrote to the desk because contractors had started asking for a 1-inch hinge he was sure he still stocked, while the bin he reordered from every month looked full. Suda counted on a Thursday while the counter stayed open. The 1-inch pieces were in a tin under the counter, left there during a repaint. The reorder bin held a larger size that had barely moved since March.
The second visit was a Monday delivery. The supplier's truck blocked the shutter for part of the morning, and the count of the lane-side cartons had to wait. Anucha was annoyed, and he was right that we should have asked which morning the truck uses. The drawing still separated the tin, the bin, and the cartons that had not been checked in. He has not asked us to run the counter. He asked for a buying evening the following month, and he brought the supplier list himself.
